New technology can help to prevent cervical cancer

NorChip has developed PreTect HPV-Proofer, a diagnostic test identifying the carcinogenic activity in cell samples from the cervix.

Clinical studies show high sensitivity against cervical cancer. At the same time very few women are disturbed unnecessarily (few false positive test results) compared with the alternatives.

Based on documented test characteristics, it is likely to assume that PreTect HPV-Proofer in an organized screening program will reduce the number of women developing cervical cancer dramatically compared to the situation today, while the socioeconomic costs of the screening program can be reduced, i.e. a reduction in the number of women in need of followup because of false positive results.
